There are many reasons, but mostly because you feel that this is an option that is available to you. Crystal work is not for everyone, and if this is something that makes you uncomfortable - for whatever reason - then really think if this is something you would like to pursue. Crystals have amazing properties and life energy. If you allow them to work and be with you, the results are amazing. Where do you get your crystals? Why are yours special?
I get my crystals from various sources. I go to shows, there is a great crystal store in my neighborhood, and I purchase them from various vendors.
Why purchase from me? Truly, you should get your crystals from whoever you feel connected to. I have a passion for my crystals and work with them for quite a while before they go out into the world. You need to do what feels right for you, and if I am a facilitator that you feel comfortable with, then I will be honored to be of service. If my site and I give you the weird feelings that don't feel right, then I'm most likely not the facilitator for you. It's nothing personal - it could be that our energies are just not in sync or I don't have what you need.
OK, so now I have one, now what? Where do I put it?
Well, depends upon what you get and how comfortable you are being out with your crystal. I have some clients that keep them in their pockets, bra's, laptop bags, purses, briefcases or wallets. Some people keep them on their desks at work or by their bedside. You can also put them into your pillowcase or under your bed.
Depending upon the individual, I will give them suggestions based upon what I understand about the crystal and my client.
If you are in doubt, just ask.
Like everything, care for your crystal is very important. Dusting it with a wet cloth when needed is good.

What if it breaks? Is it like a mirror and I get 7 years bad luck?
This does happen at times, especially if you drop it in a particular way, or it if it hits another crystal for some reason. If this happens, the crystal's energy has been fractured and needs to be cleared and reprogrammed. A lot of times if a crystal breaks, it's a signal that the work with you is finished. Other times it could be that the crystal was not being used properly, however, it takes a lot for this to happen. And no, you do not get any bad luck coming your way on this.
If your crystal does break, and you feel that the energy is no longer present for you or the crystal has died, then bury the crystal. Dig a hole by a tree 8 feet deep and place the crystal in the earth with some sage.
What happens if I lose my crystal?
This does happen at times and there is no need to worry. What needs to be is, and worrying about your lost crystal won't do you an ounce of good. Send good thoughts to it, wish it well on it's journey, and if it comes back, enjoy. If it doesn't then it's work with you is done.
Does a crystal stop working after a while?
Yes. There are a lot of reasons for this ranging from it's work with you is done; the crystal has been jarred in some way; or it needs to be cleared. If your crystal stops working for any reason, clear it. 99% of the time, this will take care of the problem.

What's up with the moon phase update picture all over your site?
The moon is a key component when clearing your crystal, specifically during the full moon. This is especially true for those crystals that are closely connected with the moon, but all crystals enjoy spending time in the moonlight. By putting your crystal out under the full moon it will be cleared and energized, ready to work with you at full force once again.
Crystals are filled with life energy, and as with all life, they can hold and receive thought forms. Thought forms are a form of energy, and crystals, work in close relationship with energy - as do most people. While I'm not convinced the term 'programming' is the most accurate one, right now it is best word most of us can come up with.
Programming a crystal has been compared to writing a computer program. Through the programming process, the molecular structure of the crystal is charged. Programming is varied and truly depends upon the intention of the individual. It also depends if you have the right crystal. Crystals can not be programmed against their nature. Programming a crystal happens through the thought forms of the programmer, either through pictures, sensory information, emotions, or voice.
It is very important that the crystal is cleared before programming. If this is not done, the programming will most likey become clouded and the results you seek might be different than what you get.

Make sure you have a crystal that is in sync with your intention. For example if you are looking for help in clearing your throat chakra, make sure the crystal you are working with is one that will work with throat chakras.

When you doing the actual programming, and this is your first time, keep it simple. A lot of us like to create a big production out of doing something like this, when in reality, simple and honest is best. Create a space of time in your home when you can sit in silence for a bit. Focus and be clear. Meditate, pray, think positive thoughts, and make sure you are in sync with what your intention is.

Depending on my client, and the programming we are doing, and the crystal, this can take anywhere for an hour or more, to 15 minutes. Do what feels right for you and trust your intuition. I have had some crystals that I worked with over a few weeks, to literally less than an hour.
The keys to successfully programming your crystal is the integrity of your intention, clearing your space so that life can enter and flow, and trusting yourself. As with anything this does take some practice, so don't sweat it if things don't work out the first time.
